Visual Arts Workshop
The world of ballet and theater is a magical place of visual art. It is like a living painting filled with living sculptures. During Fonteyn Celebration Week each year, the public are invited to learn a new visual art technique from our International Director of Visual Arts. You will learn the technique, and then with it create an original work of art you can display in your home, or give as a gift to a loved one.
Dramatic Arts Workshop
Classical ballets, often called “Story Ballets”, present a full dramatic performance. They have iconic and memorable characters, and tell age old stories like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Fonteyn was celebrated as a powerful dramatic actress with a brilliant ability to bring these stories to life through her dancing. And so, each year, MFAB presents a Dramatic Arts Workshop. In ballet acting is called Pantomime, and a workshop will include acted scenes from different ballets. This is fun for the whole family, from the very young to grandparents.
Ballet Masterclass
Classical theatrical dancing is the most inclusive art form that humans have ever created. In this Masterclass, intermediate and advanced ballet students will have the opportunity to be taught by a top world figure in classical dance pedagogy. You will acquire a few of the keys to unlock your talent and help you gain a place in the professional dance world as you continue to grow and develop.

Swan Lake Film and Q&A
In the 20th Century, the development of cinematography brought many worlds to the public that they ordinarily wouldn’t be able to see or experience. Classical Ballet is one of these worlds. During Fonteyn Celebration Week a ballet film featuring Fonteyn is presented to the public. At this film screening will be world famous individuals from Classical Ballet to answer your questions and share stories from their lives on stage.
This year the film of Swan Lake starring Dame Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev with the Vienna State Opera Ballet will be shown. At the Q&A our own Associate Artistic Director, Rainer Krenstetter, will join Artistic Director Ken Ludden to answer questions about this landmark film. Note that Mr. Krenstetter’s parents both are dancers in this remarkable film.

Tyler Gummersall Concert
Friday, May 23rd @ 7:00 pm
Tyller Gummersall is a cowboy troubadour whose music echoes the soul of the American West. Raised on Colorado ranches and seasoned in Rocky Mountain dance halls, his Traditional Country sound blends raw storytelling with soulful guitar. Now based in Prescott, Arizona, Tyller’s nine albums and 1 million+ streams feature heartfelt originals that resonate from the plains to legendary stages like Nashville’s Douglas Corner Cafe, where he’s performed alongside Tony Arata (writer of “The Dance”), and Texas’ Hilltop Cafe, swapping songs with David Lee (Montgomery Gentry hitmaker). Saving Country Music raves, “Go see Tyller Gummersall—he’s super underrated with excellent songs and a traditional sound that will smoke most of the mainstream guys off the stage.”
We are so grateful to Tyller for performing this concert as a fundraiser for Prescott Valley Performing Arts and Showtime Stage Singers! Proceeds will benefit our performing arts and youth music programs so area residents can enjoy the beauty of the arts.
